It's by Patrice Williams Marks and the guy who's telling the story is really good. It's a good old fashion mystery with gangsters, cops,bad guys and a heroine whose definitely different. I've read books when I was young that re-reading them years later gave me something completely different. It's pretty cool, how we inhabit the pages and turn them into entire worlds...<br /><br />I also agree with Julie, above, that listening to someone else's book and reading it are also very different things. Listening to a book I've already read often leads to some surprising differences in how a character comes across. It's interesting.
